Fog bank at Village Creek 022711

The fog bank over Sea Island was neat yesterday viewed from Village Creek Landing as it flowed over the trees and marsh.

It was a chilly boating adventure friday, much warmer saturday.

Visited Lewis Island in the Altamaha swamp friday.  Had a nice ride all the way from Village Creek Landing to the trailhead at Lewis Island on the Norma.  It took about 2 hours each way and is interesting to watch the transition from salt marsh to cypress swamp.  We saw three or four bald eagles, a pig, and a couple of the virgin cypress trees on Lewis Island.  Saturday our trip explored the area around Sea Island, Little St. Simons, and had a nice view of Cannon's point.  I think the highlight for our participants saturday was the dolphin surfing along with the boat.

Lands End shoot on St. Simons for their latest catalogs

We had fun with the Lands End crews that were recently here.  They were great to work with, loved St. Simons, and had great weather during their shoot.  If you see marsh grass in any of the upcoming catalogs, you'll know where it is.  They were at Village Creek Landing and East Beach among a couple other locations.
